Pay Rate: $25-26/hr. | Shift: TBD
Objective:
We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving our computer systems to ensure the smooth running of the packing house operations. The help desk technician is an entry level position for individuals. Background and knowledge in networking and computers including help desk work recommended.
Responsibilities:
• Install, maintain, and repair hardware and software components of our computer systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware.
• Set up and configure workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices.
• Check computer hardware to ensure functionality.
• Maintain and manage our inventory system.
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
• Provide technical assistance to staff and train non-technical workers on the business’s computer systems.
• Schedule regular maintenance and upgrades without deterring others from completing their work.
• Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference.
• Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly.
Requirements
• Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication ability.
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
• In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.
• Certification as IT Technician (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) is an advantage.
Education/Skills/Experience Required
• Must be detailed and have initiative.
• Must be able to effectively communicate and give concise verbal instructions
• Must be familiar with various Microsoft and Macintosh Operating Systems and loading of software and drivers.
(Must be familiar with newer Operating Systems – Windows 7 Minimum)
• Follows through on challenging problems and work to resolve them quickly and effectively.
• Ability to quickly understand systems and how various software, hardware, and networking components work
together to produce the technology being used by our staff
• Must continuously work on becoming familiar with all products and make the effort to learn at every
opportunity.
• High School Diploma.
• 2 years technical and/or networking experience a plus, but not required.
• Microsoft Office, Windows OS, Macintosh, Net+ Certification, Office 365
• 35 – 40 wpm recommended
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus, but not required.
