GENERAL SUMMARY: The Welder-Fabricator is responsible for skillfully using various techniques and tools to shape, join, and manipulate metal materials, under the direction of the Engineering Manager. They will work with technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications in order to create metal structures and products. Attention to detail is crucial in this job, as even small mistakes can compromise the integrity of the finished product.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - As a Welder/Fabricator, you will work with different welding techniques such as TiG and MiG welding to weld a variety of metals, such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to create a range of parts and assembled equipment that meet required specifications
- You will also perform tube and pipe welding MS
- In this role, you will be responsible for building simple and complex fabrications based on prints such as Decks, Railing, Frames, Piping and Hoppers from sheet metal and plate
- You will also work with other machines such as an ironworker and saw, and will be responsible for ensuring correct punches based on material thickness and type, and checking your work using scales, square, template, or samples to ensure it matches the cut list, and deburring all parts
- Individuals invited to interview for this role will be required to perform a weld test, which will include 2G and 2F positions on mild steel and stainless steel, using MIG, TIG, and fluxcore,
- The hours for this role are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., depending on company’s needs the role may change to a four on, three on 12 hour shift covering one weekend day.
- Incumbents will complete tasks that require finger dexterity, reaching, handling of materials and equipment, talking, hearing, and near and far sight
- At times the individual in this role may be required to kneel, stoop, and/or crouch
- The role may require the employee to work near moving mechanical parts, and may occasionally expose the employee to fumes and/or airborne particles
- This role required the incumbent to wear eye, hearing protection and safety shoes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Experience using precision measuring hand tools (calipers, micrometers)
- Knowledge of proper handling of propane and pressurized gas cylinders
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
- Ability to self-manage behavior
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret supplied documentation and instructions (including blueprints)
- Satisfactory results from a pre-employment fit-for-duty screen and a drug screen
- Hearing and eye protection is required at all times while on the shop floor
- The desire to learn other trades as part of project build designs, plumbing, electrical, piping.
- This role is not in a traditional fabrication house but will be part of engineering team to support production and machine installations/automation projects in a production environment.
- Portfolio of work is encouraged for interview process.
- Light machining skills a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or GED
- (3) years of experience in a welding and metal fabrication environment
- Experience with TiG and MiG welding.
- Experience with small and large, complex fabrication.
- Experience using various hand-tools, power tools, and load-moving equipment (i.e. pallet jack, dolly, forklift, etc.)
- Experience using precision measuring hand tools (calipers, micrometers).
