Duties and Responsibilities: - Design and implement accessible user interfaces that comply with Section 508 standards.
- Collaborate with the product management and development teams to understand product scope and requirements.
- Conduct accessibility audits and user testing to identify and fix accessibility barriers.
- Create and maintain design documentation, including specifications, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
- Educate and advocate for accessibility best practices within the team and across the organization.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in accessibility, and integrate innovative solutions into the design process.
- Provide expertise in accessibility during all phases of the product development lifecycle.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio that includes accessible design solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Section 508 compliance and WCAG guidelines.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
- Experience conducting accessibility evaluations and implementing remedial actions.
- Strong understanding of usability principles and techniques.
Minimum Qualifications: - Certification in Accessibility such as IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) or Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS).
- Experience working in agile development environments.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, particularly as they relate to designing for accessibility.
- CDC experience will be given preference.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
