Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Web Designer to join our dynamic team in a remote, mid-level position. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our Implementation and Client Support teams by executing website design changes requested by clients and creating original designs for client homepages, custom page templates, and various web design projects. This position requires both graphic design and coding skills, primarily in HTML, CSS, and jQuery.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and structure web pages using best practices to create fast, engaging, and high-converting sites that meet clients' unique business goals.
Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and align them with broader marketing objectives.
Utilize HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery within our custom content management system to develop responsive webpage layouts and site templates that are both functional and visually appealing (please note that WordPress or PHP are not used on our platform).
Provide expert advice to clients on optimizing their pages for performance, user experience, and accessibility.
Become a subject matter expert in performance, user experience, and accessibility, helping clients enhance their websites.
Transform mockups, references, and content into engaging web pages.
Develop a strong understanding of branding guidelines for major automotive manufacturers and marketing agencies across North America.
Communicate effectively with team members, utilizing strong written and verbal skills to find creative solutions to complex challenges.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate modern techniques into your projects and designs.
Manage your workload to meet deadlines while ensuring the highest quality of work.
Adapt to process changes with a positive attitude, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of UX design principles to enhance user satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Digital Media, Graphic Design, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in web design, with a focus on responsive design.
Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in communication (both written and verbal) and meeting deadlines.
Advanced proficiency in coding HTML and CSS by hand, with a solid grasp of responsive design principles.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in JavaScript and/or jQuery.
Strong knowledge of design concepts and principles, including color theory, typography, layout, balance, and hierarchy.
Familiarity with responsive web design concepts.
Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver.
A portfolio showcasing strong design fundamentals and previous work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Content Management Systems.
Familiarity with the Bootstrap framework (Bootstrap 3+).
Understanding of web accessibility guidelines.
Previous experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $50,900 - $94,800. The maximum range represents your earning potential within this role over time. The posted salary may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, including experience, training, geographic location, licensure, certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibilities.
