Test Technician


Position:              Test Technician
Reports To :          Test Lead; Production Manager
Status:                   Non-exempt, Full-Time 

Position Summary: The Test Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that our products meet their performance specifications and quality standards. This position involves the use of standard test equipment to verify functionality and troubleshoot issues at the component level. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of assembly drawings, work instructions, and PCB assembly (PCBA) schematics, and will be committed to maintaining high-quality standard throughout the testing process. 

Responsibilities:
  1. Ability to interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and PCBA schematics.
  2. Apply knowledge of workmanship standards, including IPC-610 and/or J-STD-001, to ensure product quality.
  3. Ability to operate standard test equipment.
  4. Identify and troubleshoot issues at the component level, utilizing analytical skills to diagnose problems and propose solutions.
  5. Take responsibility for quality assurance by identifying problems, recommending solutions, and withholding items that do not meet established quality standards.


Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  2. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.


Education/Experience:

  1. Associate of Science in Engineering Technology or a related field or equivalent education and work experience.
  2. Basic understanding of international quality standards.
  3. Minimum (3) three years in an electronic contract-manufacturing environment as a Test Technician.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with automated testing equipment and software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
