Apex Legends is looking for a Senior Technical Experience Designer to join us in expanding the Apex Universe at our growing location in Madison, Wisconsin. Reporting to the Lead Technical Experience Designer, you will work in a cross-functional team to implement and drive player-facing UI features, and help shape the tools and workflows used to create UI for Apex Legends.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the UI team and across departments to implement player-facing features and systems that align with technical best practices, gameplay goals, and accessibility standards
• Own all aspects of technical UI implementation: script logic, data structure, and layout
• Work with UX designers and UI artists to stand up functionality, give design feedback, and implement pixel-perfect layout and animation
• Iterate on and refine features based on playtesting, design requirements, and creative direction
• Leverage your technical perspective to help producers and directors estimate and prioritize work, and coordinate collaboration across disciplines
• Work with UI engineers to help inform direction of tools and engine capabilities

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional game development experience
• Computer science fundamentals and scripting experience (Lua, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
• A demonstrated passion for UI/UX
• A strong attention to detail and a keen eye for polish
• A collaborative and inclusive attitude with the ability to listen, ask questions, learn, and adapt
• A solid understanding of UX principles, layout, motion, and visual fidelity
• Located near or willing to relocate near Madison, WI

Nice To Have:

• Experience with C++
• Experience with large code bases
• Experience with UI frameworks: UMG, Unity UI, Coherent, Scaleform, ImGui, WPF, Qt
• Experience working in a multiplayer live service environment
• Interest in accessibility and developing inclusive player experiences
