JOB DESCRIPTION Senior Engineer Instrumentation & Controls

Description of the Position: As a Senior Engineer, you will produce and/or support the development of all types of Instrumentation and Control systems deliverables on a project, including P&IDs; field instrument specifications, datasheets, and requisitions; control systems specs, datasheets, and requisitions (including DCS, SIS, Fire & Gas, PLC, etc.); analyzer and analyzer shelter specs, datasheets, and requisitions; flowmeter and control valve sizing calculations; design drawings including wiring diagrams, location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, panel drawings, Remote Instrument Building layouts for LNG, Energy Transition, Carbon Capture, Refining and Petrochemical Plant projects. The position will focus on developing expertise in process analyzers.
Responsibilities: - Reports to the Lead Instrument and Control Systems on a particular project
- Monitors and advises Lead Engineer of changes
- Establishes design concepts and design data for scope assigned to group and assures technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements
- Prepares project scope deviations documentation as required
- Reports progress and updates schedules on particular tasks
- Researches suitable solutions and estimated cost and schedule
- Trains less experienced engineers and designers
- Generates Instrument, Control Systems, simple analyzer and construction specifications
- Generates Instrument, Control Systems, simple analyzer requisitions, analyzes quotes, manages POs, reviews vendor documents
- Independently evaluates the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project goals
- Applies standard engineering practices and exhibits a working knowledge of applicable codes (e.g. ISA, IEC, API)
- Reviews and generates design data from various inputs
- Coordinates details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines
- Produces and/or supports the development of all types of Instrumentation and Control systems deliverables on a project, including P&IDs; field instrument specifications, datasheets, and requisitions; control systems specs, datasheets, and requisitions (including DCS, SIS, Fire & Gas, PLC, etc.); analyzer and analyzer shelter specs, datasheets, and requisitions; flowmeter and control valve sizing calculations; design drawings including wiring diagrams, location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, panel drawings, Remote Instrument Building layouts.
- Conduct site surveys and provide site support as needed
- Travel as required.
Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI), Navisworks, and PDF markup software
- Engineering-In-Training or Professional Engineer License preferred
Desired Experience: - 5 - 10 years of experience performing I&C engineering and design on projects in the LNG, Energy Transition, Carbon Capture, Refining and/or Petrochemical industries
- Experience with process analyzers
