SUMMARY

The Senior Electrical Designer is responsible for analyzing technical data to develop electrical engineering designs and drawings for projects. This role encompasses various aspects such as Power, Lighting & Electrical Distribution, Electrical One-Line Drawings, Electrical Load Studies, and related Electrical Schematics. The position may involve onsite visits to client facilities and hands-on physical work. This role will be a hybrid schedule with T/W/Th onsite in Akron, Ohio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct design calculations and develop plans.
• Collaborate with Designers, Engineers, and other team members to ensure effective project communication.
• Gather and prepare technical data, performing detailed design calculations.
• Specify power system equipment, lighting and power panels, motor control centers, grounding systems, and lighting systems.
• Generate electrical load studies, control schematics, and installation details.
• Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software for tasks.
• Assist in field work, including obtaining field information, checking installations, and troubleshooting equipment.
• Work with Lead Engineer to develop electrical designs and CAD drawings for assigned projects.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

• Electrical technical training and/or relevant experience.
• Preferred field experience.
• Six (6) to Twelve (12) years or more in sectors such as Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers, Utility, Energy, or Manufacturing.
• Proficiency in lighting systems, power systems equipment, NEC or NFPA 70, applicable building codes, hazardous area classifications, and wiring practices.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD (3D capabilities preferred), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience with electrical drawings, P&IDs, installation details, conduit, and cable schedules
