Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION : ROOFER ( SINGLE / MULTI-PLY) JOB STARTS ON MARCH 1ST , ENDS ON DEC 15TH 2024 Hours: Fulltime hours planned, with weather permitting.
Uniform: Long pants required. Closed-toed work shoes. Will work in all types of weather, including very hot. Sun hat and sunscreen recommended.
Transportation: Transportation to and from work is provided.
Shared Employees' s Housing at low cost. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Safely transport and carry equipment and materials to and from the job site.
2. Inspect, repair, replace, and construct roofing for commercial and residential buildings.
3. Remove hazards from roofs, gutters, and adjacent structures.
4. Measure and cut materials to ensure that they fit securely around vents, gutters, chimneys, and walls.
5. Smooth out rough spots on roofs to prepare the surface for new shingles or waterproofing.
6. Install vapor barriers and insulation to create a waterproof seal.
7. Install and dismantle scaffolding and hoisting equipment, set up ladders, barricades, and warning lines.
8. Fill in leaks with cement or other appropriate materials.
9. Use scaffolds and hand tools to alter or construct roofing.
10. Operate and use machinery, hand tools, scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment safely, including while working at a height.
11. Follow health and safety standards and procedures at all times.
12. Inform Supervisor on job progress and any problems related to the job.
13. Perform other related duties as directed by Supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills Required 1. Must have prior experience as a roofer, with reputable job references. Experienced shinglers (tear off / replace) preferred. Roofer’s license preferred. Experienced roofers with single / multip-ply
2. Driver’s License preferred.
3. Basic English understanding required.
4. Must be able to pass a drug test (after arrival).
5. Physical strength, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 75 pounds, on a regular basis.
6. Must have excellent balance and steadiness working at heights.
7. Experience using scaffolding, hoisting equipment, hand tools, and all other roofing equipment.
8. Knowledge and application of all health and safety standards and procedures related to roofing.
9. Ability to maintain good working relationships with clients, contractors, and co-workers.
10. Good customer service and communication skills.
Dependability : Employees are expected to be on time and demonstrate regular attendance.
Job Performance: Employees are expected to complete duties quickly, efficiently, and safely.
Conduct: Employees are expected to follow worksite rules and regulations. Employees who violate worksite rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
