About the Opportunity:

This is an opportunity for a Property Accountant to join a real estate investment/management/development company based in Great Neck, New York. The ideal candidate will have worked within a multifamily residential and/or commercial real estate portfolio and is adept at overseeing multiple entities. A broad range of experience in Property Accounting is required for this role.  

Role and Responsibilities: 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank statements
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
• Conduct general ledger reconciliation
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information
• Accounts receivable management
• Bank reconciliation
• General ledger reconciliation
• Accounts payable
• Balance sheet reconciliation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Five years of Real Estate experiences is required
• A masters degree in accounting is a plus
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts and accounting principles
• Familiarity with corporate accounting procedures and regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Appfolio Software Experience A plus!
• Note: Public accounting experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

100K-115K Plus Health, Dental, & 401K

9-6 M-F
