Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Property Accountant for our well- established Real Estate Client in North Raleigh.  The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial accounting for an assigned portfolio of properties & entities in a fast- paced environment.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone mid-career seeking a nice work culture and excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts and document business transactions.
• Review general ledger for proper coding and research variances, engaging with property management to resolve potential issues
• Prepare quarterly cash flow statements with accompanying notes and other basic financial reports.
• Review fixed asset invoices for proper coding and recognition
• Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations including balance sheet, and revenue analysis.
• Perform year-end closing functions to include accruals and supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare financial work papers for preparation of partnership tax returns
• Prepare all financial statements related to mortgage compliance reporting
• Coordinate all monthly mortgage payments
• Prepare monthly sales tax reporting (where required)
• Schedule monthly investor distributions
• Prepare various analysis/reports for management as requested.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as requested to maintain efficiency and productivity within the accounting department and the company as a whole.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s  Degree – Accounting or related field (CPA preferred)
• 3+ years accounting experience (real estate experience a plus)
• Advanced excel skills; Yardi a plus
• Detailed-oriented individual with the ability to analyze a significant volume of financial information
• Ability to apply accounting concepts to varying scenarios
• Preferably someone familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the real estate industry.
• Thorough knowledge of general accounting plus the application of general accounting theory
• Must have a strong commitment to providing high quality results and service
• Must be able to work in a deadline driven environment
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management
