Job Summary:

The College of Arts & Sciences seeks an OSA and Webb Museum Director. As the head of the Office of State Archaeology, this position will work directly with the Department of Anthropology, Kentucky Heritage Council – State Historic Preservation Office, as well as collaborate with state-wide organizations to enforce and maintain standards as outlined by the KY Antiquities Act, Cave Protection Act, the Native American Graves Protection & Repatriation Act and other applicable statutes. This position will oversee the implementation of the strategic plan for the Webb Museum, manage the processing of Office of State Archaeology requests, as well as lead & develop the museum staff regarding state statutes and museum operations. A PhD in Anthropology or a related field is required, previous museum experience is desired as this position will need to understand the importance of the museum collections, including the untapped potential for research and have the vision to develop and assist in research opportunities for others that align with institutional, state, and national interests.
