Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Native American Recovery Coach / Community Liaison to join our team. This role will focus on providing culturally sensitive recovery coaching and support to Native American individuals and communities within the Inland Empire. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Native American cultures, traditions, and challenges related to substance use and recovery. This position requires strong communication skills, cultural competency, and the ability to build trust and rapport within the Native American community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one recovery coaching and support to Native American individuals in recovery from substance use disorders.
Facilitate group support meetings, workshops, and activities that incorporate Native American cultural practices and traditions.
Serve as a liaison between The Happier Life Project and Native American communities, fostering strong relationships and partnerships.
Collaborate with community leaders, tribal organizations, and other stakeholders to promote recovery resources and services.
Design and implement culturally appropriate recovery plans tailored to the needs of Native American clients.
Conduct outreach and education efforts to raise awareness about substance use disorder and available support services within Native American communities.
Advocate for the needs and rights of Native American individuals in recovery, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in recovery coaching and cultural competency.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Peer Support Specialist, Recovery Coach, or the ability to acquire certification within 4 months of hire date.
Personal lived experience with recovery from substance use disorder and/or mental health challenges (lived experience) is highly valued.
Strong understanding of Native American cultures, traditions, and history, particularly within the Inland Empire region.
Experience working with Native American communities and individuals affected by substance use disorders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and a Native American language spoken in the Inland Empire region.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
