About the Role:
We're excited to offer a direct hire opportunity for a Senior Information Technology Project Manager/Scrum Master. In this role, you will play a key part in providing access to actionable data and data-driven content for clients and public users. Your work will involve integrating human-centered design and engineering with a deep understanding of data, all aimed at sharing science efficiently and effectively.
You will support several essential functions, including:
- Data Visualization Engineering: Develop and enhance data visualization tools, contribute to common data visualization libraries, and create custom data visualizations.
- Data Engineering: Build data pipelines for data ingestion, transform data into visualization-ready assets, and publish them on platforms such as data.cdc.gov and CDC WONDER.
- Product Management: Manage resources, plan implementations, and track progress for public-facing data channel projects.
- Design: Conduct user research, design user experiences, interaction design, and information architecture for a range of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Guide and coach development teams to focus on sprint goals and ensure successful project progress.
- Apply scrum principles to resolve routine issues and promote process improvements using Agile tools.
- Support sustainable process enhancements to help your team achieve prioritized outcomes within schedule and planned capacity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master and/or Product Manager for Agile teams.
- Proficiency with Agile software project management tools, including JIRA.
- Experience with facilitating daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, road mapping, and requirements sessions.
- Strong knowledge of project management frameworks, software development, and delivery processes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Certified SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist Certification, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with clients, engineers, and managers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active CDC badge preferred.
- 2+ years of experience supporting public health projects.
- Experience as a Business Analyst.
- Proven ability to coach teams toward improved outcomes through process improvement.
