About the Role:
In this role, you'll play a crucial part in helping us deliver actionable data and data-driven content to our clients and public users. You'll be at the intersection of human-centered design and engineering, utilizing your expertise to make data accessible and impactful. Your work will touch on several key areas, including:
- Data Visualization Engineering: Create and refine data visualization tools, contribute to common libraries, and develop custom visualizations.
- Data Engineering: Build and manage data pipelines to transform and publish data on platforms like data.cdc.gov and CDC WONDER.
- Product Management: Oversee resources, plan implementations, and track progress for our public-facing data projects.
- Design: Conduct user research, design user experiences, and develop interaction and information architectures for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide a development team to focus on sprint goals and ensure successful project progression.
- Apply Scrum principles to address routine challenges and facilitate sustainable process improvements.
- Use Agile tools to help your team achieve prioritized outcomes within the project timeline and scope.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Product Manager for Agile teams.
- Proficiency with Agile project management tools, such as JIRA.
- Experience in facilitating daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, road mapping, and requirements sessions.
- Understanding of project management frameworks and software development processes.
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Certifications: SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active CDC badge (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience with public health projects.
- Experience as a Business Analyst.
- Proven ability to coach teams toward improved outcomes through process enhancements.
