Job Description

Overview: We are seeking an experienced HVAC Commercial Service Manager with a robust background as an HVAC Technician to lead and manage our team of over 50 HVAC Technicians in the New York, NY area. The ideal candidate will have over 10+ years of industry experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing large-scale HVAC service operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 50+ HVAC Technicians, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and customer service.
    • Oversee daily operations, including technician scheduling, job assignments, and work order management.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and provide ongoing training and support.
  2. Service Operations:

    • Ensure efficient and effective execution of all HVAC service activities, including maintenance, repairs, and installations for commercial clients.
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
    • Monitor and manage service metrics, including response times, job completion rates, and customer satisfaction.
  3. Customer Relations:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for major commercial clients, addressing service issues, resolving complaints, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Foster strong relationships with clients through regular communication, site visits, and proactive service management.
  4. Technical Expertise:

    • Utilize extensive HVAC technical knowledge to support and guide technicians in diagnosing and resolving complex service issues.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the team is equipped with the latest tools and knowledge.
  5. Financial Management:

    • Develop and manage the service department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and profitability.
    • Analyze financial reports, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance financial performance.
  6. Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all service activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment for all technicians.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 10+ years of experience in the HVAC industry, with a significant portion spent as an HVAC Technician.
    • Proven experience managing large teams of HVAC Technicians in a commercial setting.
  • Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in HVAC is highly desirable.
    • EPA Certification and other relevant HVAC certifications are a plus.
  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
    • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
    • Proficient in using service management software and other relevant tools.
    • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.
