Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Fund Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you'll play a key part in managing daily transactions, maintaining financial records, and supporting the annual audit process. You'll also be instrumental in cash management and the reconciliation of bank and accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Transactions: Efficiently process transactions related to Private Equity, Asset Management, Hedge Funds, and Financial Services.
Cash Management: Conduct periodic cash management operations and bank reconciliations.
Account Reconciliation: Regularly maintain and reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing and delivering monthly financial reports.
Audit Support: Support the annual audit process by providing necessary financial data and documentation.
Marketable Securities: Handle transactions for marketable securities, including valuation adjustments, acquisitions, and dispositions.
LP Communication: Respond promptly and professionally to Limited Partner (LP) requests.
Accounting Close: Ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date for the accounting close period.
Special Projects: Assist with various special projects and provide ad hoc reporting as needed.
Software Utilization: Efficiently use Investran fund accounting software for various accounting tasks.
Requirements:
Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in Fund Accounting within the Investment Management industry.
Software Proficiency: Skilled in using accounting software systems for managing financial information.
Bloomberg Terminal: Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal for accessing financial data and analytics.
Accounting Knowledge: A thorough understanding of accounting functions and their application in fund management.
Auditing Experience: Experience in auditing, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Budgeting: Knowledge of budget processes, including planning, tracking, and reporting.
Capital and Cash Management: Ability to manage capital and cash activity effectively to ensure optimal fund performance.
Private Equity: Experience with Private Equity Funds and an understanding of their operational nuances.
Alternative Investments: Knowledge of alternative investments, including their risks, benefits, and management strategies.
