Job Title: Family Law Attorney

Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Family Law Attorney to join our growing legal team in Southern Minnesota. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, adoption, and related matters. The Family Law Attorney will be responsible for providing high-quality legal representation to clients, guiding them through emotionally charged legal processes, and advocating for their best interests both in and out of court.
Responsibilities:
* Client Representation: Provide legal representation and counsel to clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, property division, paternity, and adoption cases.
* Case Management: Manage a caseload of family law cases from inception to resolution, including conducting initial consultations, preparing legal documents, and representing clients in court.
* Legal Research and Drafting: Conduct thorough legal research on relevant family law issues and draft necessary legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
* Court Appearances: Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations, and effectively advocate for clients' interests.
* Negotiation: Negotiate settlements and agreements between parties in family law disputes, aiming to achieve favorable outcomes while minimizing conflict.
* Mediation and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with mediators, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in family law disputes to seek amicable resolutions when possible.
* Compliance: Ensure that all legal actions comply with state and federal laws, court procedures, and ethical standards.
* Legal Advice: Provide clients with sound legal advice tailored to their specific circumstances, explaining complex legal concepts in an understandable manner.
* Document Review and Filing: Review, file, and serve legal documents accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all court rules and deadlines.
Qualifications:
* Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
* Licensure: Active license to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
* Experience: Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in family law, with a proven track record of handling complex family law cases.
* Skills:
* Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
* Ability to manage a diverse caseload with varying degrees of complexity.
* Empathy and strong interpersonal skills to manage sensitive and emotional client issues.
* High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
