The University of Illinois Foundation (Foundation) is the official fundraising and private gift-receiving organization of the University of Illinois (University). It works closely with alumni and friends, faculty and staff, corporations and foundations, as well as campus development professionals to create fundraising programs and opportunities that benefit the University.
The Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement is responsible for the oversight, management, and execution of key donor volunteer programs, services, and donor volunteer engagement efforts. The Coordinator will provide support to Foundation and University partners utilizing donor volunteer structures to grow private support at the University of Illinois.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provides centralized support in the area of donor volunteer management, administration, and programming.
· Supports the growth of volunteer management structures across the UI development program in an effort to provide value-add, scalable, and replicable tools and resources.
· Manages the UI Foundation Membership program, a high touch volunteer management program intended to engage and communicate with invested donor prospect volunteers from across the enterprise. Serves as primary contact for UIF Foundation Members, providing personalized, value-add engagement opportunities for the membership.
· Collaborates with Board and donor engagement staff members responsible for activities and functions such as Board meeting and related events planning, communication planning, and volunteer management support.
· Remains current volunteer management trends, services, programs and best practices offered by other not-for-profits and institutions of higher education as well as maintaining an awareness outside of the field for relevant and translatable programs or efforts.
· Supports the department in execution of Board-related and general advancement-related events, communications, and programs. Some travel, in-state, out of state, and internationally, will be required.
· Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Board and Donor Engagement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree with at least two years of professional experience in advancement and/or volunteer management.
· Proven interest in philanthropy and belief in the work and mission of the UI Foundation.
· Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities and sometimes moving deadlines.
· Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Proficiency in MS Office suite and the propensity to become proficient in Blackbaud (or equivalent customer relationship management system) and related technical systems.
· Exhibits development program values of: integrity, empathy, collaboration, innovation and impact.
