Under the direction of the Office Building Manager I, the Chief Engineer II at the Facilities Management Division (FMD) Caltrans Management Unit supervises the daily building and engineering operations, maintenance, special projects and repairs of building systems including heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems, auxiliary electrical plants and other mechanical and power equipment in State-owned and occupied buildings in accordance with FMD guidelines and manuals.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.

Prefer possession of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Technician Certificate and backflow testing certification as needed for the position.
