The Theology and Religious Studies Department and the Humanities Division at Bellarmine University invites applications for a part-time instructor position for the introductory course to Theology: Ultimate Questions, for the fall semester (8/22/2024-12/4/2024). The class for which an instructor is being sought meets Tue/Thu 8:00-9:15am. All classes are in person.
Course description: This course is an investigation of the fundamental questions of human meaning and of the nature of religious experience as response to such questioning. The course provides an introduction to religious experience, to theological terms, concepts, and methods, and to the ways that ultimate questions are dealt with in a religious context, with specific focus on the basic themes in Christianity. This course also provides an encounter with Thomas Merton's writings and his response to ultimate questions.
Applicants must have at least 2 years experience teaching Theology or Religious Studies at the college level and must hold an M.A. or Ph.D. degree in Theology or Religious Studies or a related field.
